This workshop is a must if you are considering an NIH submission. In addition to up-to-date information on the SBIR/STTR programs, you’ll receive detailed instruction on developing a competitive proposal for the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) SBIR/STTR program. Expect to learn:
-Registration process necessary for submission
-Strategies for targeting your proposal to meet the reviewers’ expectations
-How to approach each section of the proposal
-Common pitfalls and how to avoid them, and more!

-9:00am ABCs of SBIR/STTR and Overview of NIH program – Megan Varnum, Ph.D. — Reviewing registrations necessary for submission, strategies for targeting your proposal to meet the reviewers’ expectations, what your company needs to be competitive, and more!
-10:30am 10-15-minute break
-10:45am NIH Proposal Prep Essentials Part 1 – Megan Varnum, Ph.D. — Going over review criteria and what should be included in Specific Aims. How does that relate to your Research Strategy?
-12:15pm 30-minute lunch break
12:45pm NIH Proposal Prep Essentials Part 2 – Andrea Johanson, Ph.D. — Facilities and Other Resources, Biosketches, and Budgets.
-2:15PM: Writing NIH AIMS – Amir Rahbar, NCI
